The backup administrator configured replication for a VM from Data Center 1 to Data Center 2, which runs every day at 1 a.m. A power surge takes out Data Center 1 at 7 a.m. and the administrator fails over the replica at 8 a.m. When the power comes back on, the administrator performs the "failback" action at 2 p.m. and checks the state of the original VM. Power surge is at 7 a.m so there should be data between 1 a.m and 7 a.m making A & B wrong
Power surge is at 7 a.m and failover is at 8 a.m which means 7 a.m to 8 a.m counts as downtime and there is no expectation of data during downtime
8 a.m to 2 p.m is failover meaning all changes made during that period are temporarily stored on the replica VM disk and if the failback is not committed then the changes are not implemented to the source VM

a failback has 2 options, if you merge the data alle data that has been changed on the replica running vm will be synced to the source VM. The source vm starts running. so the only data that is missing is during the time there is no running vm. 7am - 8am.
